When Talking Hasn't Healed the Distance Between You and Your Mother

A Private Mother-Daughter Intensive Retreat

For Filipino women ready to break painful patterns, deepen understanding, and begin healing wounds that may have been carried for generations.

What is a intensive retreat?

2 or 3 days of dedicated time focused on deep work, healing space, and interrupting entanglements that have kept mother & daughter relationship painfully stuck.

Book a consult to see if you and your mother are a good fit for this offering.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You love your mother, but conversations leave you feeling hurt, frustrated, or unseen.

  • You find yourself carrying guilt whenever you set boundaries.

  • You long for closeness but keep ending up in the same arguments.

  • Your mother wants a relationship with you, but neither of you knows how to bridge the gap.

  • You've spent years trying to explain yourself, yet still don't feel understood.

  • Part of you feels like a little girl whenever you're around her.

  • You worry that these wounds are affecting your marriage, friendships, parenting, or sense of self.

For many Filipino women, mother wounds aren't just personal. They're often shaped by immigration, sacrifice, survival, cultural expectations, and generations of unspoken pain.

Why an intensive retreat?

Traditional weekly therapy can be powerful.

But some mother-daughter relationships need more time, more depth, and more support than a 50-minute session can provide.

An intensive creates dedicated space to slow down, understand one another, uncover hidden family patterns, and have conversations that often never happen in everyday life.

Instead of spending months working toward a breakthrough, we create focused time to do deeper work together.

Who This Is For

A Private Mother-Daughter Intensive Retreat

This intensive may be a good fit if:

  • Both mother and daughter are willing to participate.

  • You want more than surface-level conversations.

  • You feel stuck in recurring patterns.

  • You are ready to understand—not just blame.

  • You desire healing, even if the relationship feels complicated.

My approach

Healing Beyond Talking

Over the last 18 years, I've helped women heal from relationship wounds, family trauma, and patterns that seem impossible to change. In this intensive, I combine:

Somatic Psychotherapy

Because healing doesn't only happen through insight. The body often holds years of hurt, protection, grief, and longing.

Family Constellation Work

To uncover the hidden loyalties, burdens, and generational patterns that may be influencing your relationship without either of you realizing it.

Relational and Attachment-Based Therapy

To create new experiences of safety, understanding, and connection.

Together, these approaches help us work not only with what is happening between mother and daughter today, but also with the deeper family stories that shaped both of you.

If Your Mother Can't Attend

Not every mother is ready for this work.

That doesn't mean your healing has to wait.

I also offer private 1:1 therapy for Filipino women who want to heal mother wounds, process family pain, and create healthier relationships.

Meet Your Filipina Therapist

I’m Roanne. I'm so glad you stopped by!

Our work together will be an adventure of your lifetime. You will learn about yourself beyond the limiting beliefs you’ve unconsciously subscribed to without being in therapy forever.

We will tackle issues with depth & lightheartedness. I am playfully direct because who said the healing journey has to be sooooo serious. But you’re transformation will seriously change your life to the one you’ve only imagined. You will become the reality of your dreams.

I’m an immigrant mom of 4 in an interracial relationship. I was born and raised in the Philippines but have lived in the U.S. for almost 25 years. I’ve navigated both cultures beautifully but have lived experience on the difficulty of bridging both.

Frequently asked questions

do you accept insurance?

Since Intensive retreat is therapeutic but not considered "therapy," it will not be covered by your insurance. Insurance needs a medical diagnosis for reimbursement. No superbills provided.

What are the different option for an intensive retreat?

You can choose 2 or a 3 day option. 2 days are 5 hours each (plenty of breaks and space for healing). 3 day option is 3.5 hours. Your day is tailored to your need so all intensive retreats are unique to every individual.

I'm interested but i'm not sure how to encourage my mother to attend

To be honest, most of the time, daughters are the ones that reach out to me first. I do a separate consult for the mom and see if they will warm up to me. So far, all the moms I've talked to have been encouraged to attend.

Is this in-person only?

Yes. Part of this work is to facilitate (with permission) a corrective experience between mother and daughter. We incorporate creative expression, body work and touch therapy in our retreat intensive. All these are best done in-person.

Do i have to live in california to avail of this service?

No. If you (there is option for 1:1) are willing to travel to meet with me-it's my delight to support mothers & daughters in their healing journey.
